In practical matters the end is not the mere speculative knowledge of what is to be done but rather the doing of it. |
A time honored saying is "God helps those that help themselves."
The following is excerpted from Miracle Worker.
Make sure you Give Attention so you can follow up diligently with Give Action. Be ready to spend time and effort when an opportunity does arise. The opportunity may be as close as you can get to having your prayer answered and you will have to go the rest of the way on your own. Yes, a better opportunity and closer results might come if you wait, but it might also be too late by then to enjoy things to their fullest. "He who hesitates is lost" if you want to enjoy things now. "Everything comes to him who waits," if you are prepared to wait a long time.
Don't just wait, be proactive. "If opportunity doesn't come knocking at your door, then go to its door and knock it down" Too many great ideas, plans and visions fall folly to never making a commitment, to beginning it, and so come to naught. Not beginning it is to ignore the Biblical admonition that it is better to light just one little candle than to curse the darkness and the spiritual Tao Te Ching guidance that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Your opportunity might only materialize when you have taken the first proactive steps. So hearken unto the words of Goethe and just begin it!
Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it.
