A folded paper ready for sending is a symbolic way of ending
These instructions are for folding a normal 8 ½ X 11 letter size sheet. First place the sheet flat on a table so the long eleven inch side is facing you. Fold the near edge over so you are halving the paper, press down the crease, and then do the same folding operation twice more. You now have in front of you a folded but otherwise flat piece of paper eleven inches long and just a little over one inch tall.
The paper looks something like a short, flat piece of rope at this point and that is exactly how we will be treating it. Take the right end of your flat "rope" and at a point about two and a half to three inches from the end, fold it forward at about forty five degrees. The paper should now look something like the picture below.
Now take the left end of the "rope" and fold it forward also at about forty five degrees so that only about an inch and a half of the original horizontal section is left. The folded paper should now look like the picture below:
At this point we treat the paper just like a rope by taking the long arm and folding it back under and through the loop to create a knot. The paper will first look like pictured below, and then turned sideways to see it as it will probably be more normally looked at.
The above are slightly exaggerated pictures to show the folding. With a little practice you will be able to get a nice neat compact knot with equal length ends coming out on either side.
Now that you have folded your Affirmation Sheet to symbolically send it, you can dispose of it any way that you wish. To borrow from Star Trek Klingon tradition, once they have finished a death ritual for one of their comrades the body was unceremoniously discarded. It was considered to be "only an empty shell" which should be treated as such. If you like drama and have a live fireplace then you might consider throwing your folded Affirmation Sheet on the fire with the words: "I give this up to the universe that it may be returned to me." This phrase comes from the book Accessing Awen and is part of the ritual of invoking the Law of Attraction by symbolically making a burnt offering of your small Intend sheet, in the best of ages old tradition. Symbolism is a powerful aid to prayer!
